Module 5 – Social Capital & Social Cohesion

The concepts of social capital and social cohesion are often used interchangeably, but there are differences that must be outlined as they can help individuals grasp to what extend they are committed to engage and act collectively towards tackling issues on climate change and environmental hazards.

This competence area describes the knowledge, skills and attitudes citizens need to acquire, develop and, or improve to mobilise resources, establish connections, and networks facilitating collective action towards an effective engagement in climate change, as well as to commit to the Sustainable development Goals. It is expected that CIVIC GREEN citizens can emphasize a sense of unity and integration within a community, fostering wellbeing and resilient communities that are prepared for the pressing challenges caused by climate change.
